Gallery-wrapped stretching means that the canvas is mounted and wrapped around all edges of the wood stretcher bar [the frame] and secured in the back [usually with staples or tacks]. The result is that the staples are hidden in the back, and will not show when your artwork is hung on a wall. This method of stretching and preparing a canvas allows you to present your artwork without a frame.

Please note that canvas stretching is required with both a frameless presentation [for a contemporary look] and mounting into a frame [for a more traditional look].
